National Jazz Museum Auctioning Duke Ellington Memorabilia

On May 18th in New York City, the National Jazz Museum will open its doors to present over 250+ personal belongings of the late, legendary Duke Ellington, which will be up for auction worldwide in celebration of his influence on 20th century pop culture.

During his reign as one of the most iconic and renowned Jazz artists in history, Ellington made quite an impact over his 50 year career, composing thousands of songs, and becoming an inspiration to artists today.

Amongst the rarities that will be auctioned off include, Duke’s White Baby Grand Piano used to compose his music, Two dozen original manuscripts, Suits, tuxedos and dinner jackets from Duke’s clothing collection, paintings created by Duke, and many more.

The live auction will be presented by Guernsey’s auction house, and music fans based outside of NYC can also bid online via liveauctioneers.com or invaluable.com.
